The Qualla Country Trout Tournament

It’s not too late to take home the summer’s biggest trout. And biggest purse. Your $11 entry fee lets you compete for your share of $20,000 in the pristine, freestone streams of Cherokee (excluding the 2.2 miles of catch-and-release waters). For those unfamiliar with tagged tourneys, you’ll discover the waters stocked with fish tagged with different colors. Just catch and redeem them for cash from $25 to $5,000. Prizes can be redeemed at the Beetle Stage Pavilion next to the Cherokee Welcome Center on US 441. Open to all ages and for all legal fishing methods. Hike the Smokies: Boogerman Trail

Friends of the Smokies guided hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park feature interpretation of the featured trail, history, and park projects supported by Friends of the Smokies. 
The Boogerman Trail hike is 7.5 miles with a moderate 1,150 foot ascent and features the historic Cataloochee Valley and elk with the highlight of the hike being Cataloochee Valley Historic Preservation.

Tunes on the Tuck Free Concert - Lois Hornbostel & Ehukai Teves

Champion mountain dulcimer players, Lois Hornbostel and Ehukai Teves, will perform a concert that includes a variety of musical styles. There will be featured selections from Southern Appalachia and Celtic, Cajun, Hawaiian, Blues and World Music played on the dulcimer and ukulele.
