The Polar Express

Where: Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Bryson City

The 1 ¼ hour round-trip excursion on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad comes to life as the train departs Bryson City for a special visit at the "North Pole." Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, guests on board will enjoy warm cocoa and a treat while listening and reading along with the magical story.

The train arrives to find Santa Claus waiting. Santa boards the train greeting each child and presenting them with their own silver sleigh bell. Christmas carols will be sung as they return back to the Bryson City Depot. Call 800-872-4681 or click here

Cherokee Christmas Parade

Where: Cherokee Bear Zoo to Museum

Experience the many sights and sounds of festive holiday entertainment between the Cherokee Bear Zoo and the Museum of the Cherokee Indian at Cherokee’s annual Christmas Parade. Spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs, as well as bags for the candy thrown from passing floats. All parking along the parade path and surrounding areas will cease 15 minutes prior to the parade and roads will not open again until the conclusion of parade festivities.
